Vedam School of Technology Expands to Gurugram with AI-Focused Engineering Campus in Partnership with Sushant University
Vedam School of Technology has launched its Gurugram campus in partnership with Sushant University, introducing an AI-first B.Tech programme in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. The expansion brings industry-driven engineering education to one of India’s largest technology hubs, offering students direct exposure to startups, multinational corporations, and Global Capability Centres.
The Gurugram campus will offer a four-year undergraduate programme in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Students will study under Vedam’s industry-driven academic framework while earning a Bachelor of Technology degree from Sushant University, a University Grants Commission-recognised and National Assessment and Accreditation Council-accredited institution.
Commenting on the collaboration, Professor (Dr.) Rakesh Ranjan, Vice Chancellor of Sushant University, said that the university continues to invest in building an educational ecosystem centred on technology and innovation. He stated that the partnership with Vedam will enable students to explore, build, and engage with cutting-edge technologies within a structured academic environment.
The collaboration combines Sushant University’s academic foundation with Vedam’s industry-led learning model, with a shared objective of making engineering education more practical, application-oriented, and aligned with the evolving demands of the technology sector. By integrating academic rigour with hands-on learning, the partnership seeks to create an environment where students not only study concepts but also apply them to real-world challenges from an early stage.
Piyush Nangru, Founder of Vedam School of Technology, said Gurugram was selected strategically because it is home to some of the country’s best technology opportunities. He said students at the Vedam Gurugram campus will not merely prepare for leading companies but will develop alongside them. He added that the institution aims to produce engineers who are capable of contributing from the first day of their professional careers rather than simply graduating with a degree.
Vedam’s expansion into Gurugram aligns with its focus on proximity to industry. The city forms part of the Delhi-National Capital Region corridor, which hosts more than 10,000 startups, over 600 multinational corporations, and a substantial concentration of Global Capability Centres. According to industry reports, India had more than 1,580 Global Capability Centres as of the 2023 financial year, with the National Capital Region emerging as one of the country’s most significant hubs. This environment is expected to provide students with direct exposure to real-world problem-solving and closer access to companies shaping modern engineering practices.
At the centre of Vedam’s academic offering is an artificial intelligence-first, build-oriented curriculum designed to move beyond conventional theoretical education. Students begin practical work in the first year, with a strong emphasis on real-world systems, open-source contributions, and problem-solving across disciplines including artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, natural language processing, blockchain, robotics, and DevOps.
Vedam’s leadership team brings more than seven years of experience in higher education and placement services. The team has upskilled more than 20,000 students and built a network of over 1,000 hiring partners. In the previous year alone, more than 1,000 students were placed in various organisations.
The curriculum has been designed and is led by Subhesh Kumar, Head of Academics at Vedam and a former engineer at Google. A five-star coder from Delhi Technological University, Kumar and Vedam’s academic team have mentored more than 5,000 students, helping them secure positions at major technology companies including Google, Amazon, and Atlassian. The academic model includes regular project reviews, one-on-one mentoring, and structured guidance to ensure continuous skill development.
The institution reports that this educational approach has already produced early results. During the first year, more than eight students secured paid internships. Some students have also established global recognition through practical achievements. Mohammad Sharief earned more than Rs. 4.5 lakh through bug bounty programmes on platforms such as HackerOne, while Krishiv secured a Rs. 2.7 lakh mentorship through the Linux Foundation Mentorship programme conducted by The Linux Foundation. According to Vedam, all of these accomplishments were achieved within the first year of the programme.
Students at the Gurugram campus will have access to Sushant University’s infrastructure, including modern lecture theatres, computer laboratories, a networked library, high-speed internet, an amphitheatre, auditorium spaces, and sports facilities such as tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, cricket nets, and a football ground. These facilities will be complemented by Vedam’s build-focused ecosystem, which includes innovation laboratories, coding clubs, collaborative workspaces, and dedicated doubt-resolution environments to support continuous experimentation and learning.
Vedam stated that its expansion is supported by the early outcomes of its Pune campus, where students have engaged directly with industry leaders through mentorship and visiting faculty sessions while working on real-world artificial intelligence products and systems.
For students seeking careers in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, the Gurugram campus combines Vedam’s application-driven educational model with the advantages of studying in one of India’s most dynamic technology ecosystems.
Admissions to the Vedam Gurugram campus are now open. Candidates must qualify through the Vedam Scholastic Aptitude Test, a national-level online assessment, followed by a personal interview and counselling process. According to the institution, only the top five per cent of applicants will be offered admission.
With its expansion into Gurugram, Vedam School of Technology is positioning itself at the intersection of academic excellence, industry integration, and artificial intelligence-led innovation, aiming to develop a new generation of engineers prepared to lead in the age of advanced technology.
